Hey friend,
Today is my 42nd birthday 🎉
I started it off with a 3 mile easy run through the cemetary 😂
Why? Because every time I run this route I am reminded every day is precious and I don't want to waste this day to be the best I can be.
Life is precious, but I am blessed beyond measure.
I am thankful for you and everyone else in my life passionate about being the best version of themselves so we can serve others and be a light in this world 💪🏻
I'm going to enjoy some amazing food and time with my family for my birthday weekend 🍔. Maybe catch a movie with a giant bucket of 🍿.
Alright, now onto this week's Practical Health Journal...
5 High Protein Grocery Finds This Week
You know I always like to share when I come across new products that stand apart from the rest in terms of calorie and protein content while being convenient and tasting amazing...
So here are 5 new products I tried this week that are all keepers!
Real Good Foods Chicken Meatballs

These are my favorite find of the week, because the nutrition AND the flavor is EXCELLENT. They also come in a ton of flavors and range from only 120 to 180 calories per serving and 20-23 grams protein per serving.
I purchased the Jalapeno Cheddar and Italian Style flavors this week and both were excellent in the air fryer. They also have Pinapple Teriyaki and Homestyle flavors.
These are very high protein, taste great, and can be used in a number of different recipes or just even as a protein in a meal. LOVE THEM.
Perdue Harvestland High Protein Chicken Bites

These is one of those products that very well balances tasting great with trying to be a truly higher protein / lower calorie product.
At only 150 calories per serving with 20 grams protein they are 53% protein overall, which is great.
Most breaded chicken products have less protein and a lot more in terms of fat calories than this one does. This one really tastes great and is high enough in protein that it can be used in meals and recipes without blowing the calories up. Highly recommend.
Real Good Foods Lightly Breaded Chicken Breast Filets
Another great product from Real Good Foods that comes in at 180 calories per filet and 23g protein, which makes them just over 50% protein.
Pair these with a Zero Carb Burger Bun and some very low calorie sauce like Frank's Red Hot Buffalo or G Hughes Sweet Chili Sauce and you have a VERY tasty chicken sandwich that is low calorie and very high protein.
Kraft Big Protein Cheese Snacks

These are one of my favorite finds in a while...a high protein cheese snack that can stand in for a protein bar.
They have mild cheddar and pepper jack flavors, both of which taste great, and they come in at 150 calories per block of cheese with 17 grams of protein. Just over 50% protein.
They make a GREAT protein snack just like a protein bar would...and you can cut them up to use as a cooking ingredient in lots of different recipes.
I've been waiting a LONG time for someone to come out with a low calorie and high protein pepper jack option...and this is it!
Jimmy Dean High Protein Chipotle Breakfast Bowl
I love a good, quick, plug and play meal that is ready in minutes.
This one is great. At 410 calories and 40 grams of protein it's a perfect meal size with adequate protein. So if you just need a super quick and tasty breakfast bowl with a nice chunk of protein...this will do the trick.
Easy High Protein Meatball Pasta
Here's a VERY easy recipe you can whip up using the Real Good Foods Italian Style Meatballs I shared above. Only 4 ingredients and it tastes amazing.
I like to pair it with 2 slices of Lewis Hawaiian Keto Bread seasoned with garlic and toasted.
The pasta dish by itself comes to 496 calories and is right at 48 grams of protein. Paired with a couple slices of garlic toast with Lewis Keto Hawaiian Bread it comes to 566 calories and a whopping 60 grams of protein 💪🏻
Ingredients For The Pasta
- 1 Single Serving Goodles Twist My Parm Cup
- 8 Real Good Foods Italian Style Chicken Meatballs
- 1/2 Onion Chopped
- 2 Tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese
- Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions
- Throw the meatballs in the air fryer for 7-9 minutes at 370 degress as per the instructions.
- Chop half an onion and saute it in a pan on medium heat while the meatballs book in the air fryer. I like to salt my veggies when they cook.
- Remove the top and the sauce packet from the Goodles cup, add water to the fill line, and cook in the microwave for 3 minutes as per the instructions. Then mix in the sauce powder packet when finished in the microwave and stir it up well.
- Mix it all together and top with 2 tablespoons of grated parmesan. I also add a little extra salt here.
If you pair the pasta with the keto garlic toast this counts as a meal block and snack block combined or as 1.5 meal blocks for our clients out there using our Building Block Method to lose weight without counting calories and macros. I'm 41. This is the meal plan that has me leaner than I was at 21.
Most influencers will tell you that you have to eat in a very particular way to get results. And usually it requires resisting your favorite foods, not eating after 6pm or within 3 hours of bedtime, etc.
AKA...not sustainable at all.
In this video I walk you through my personal daily meal plan as well as how to build your OWN meal plan that 100% suits YOUR preferences...
Enjoy.
