Being consisent is the biggest battle when it comes to healthy habits. Heck it's the biggest battle with anything hard and important in life.
But boy does consistency pay huge.
There's just nothing like the self confidence that comes from following through on your standards and commitments, and seeing the results show up and compound over time.
Yes, it's hard...really hard at times.
But that's what builds up our confidence and self belief...showing up and following through and reminding ourselves that we can do hard things.

Easy High Protein Shrimp Carbonara Pasta

I tend to create recipes in batches when I get on a kick with something...
Lately, I am on a pasta kick and have become obsessed with creating my favorite pasta dishes using super simple and fast ingredients such as single serving pasta cups.
I already shared a new Cajun Shrimp Pasta recipe previously, so here is my newest creation...Shrimp Carbonara 🤤
It's just as easy as the last one, too. In fact, this time I even eliminated the need to use raw shrimp that you have to cook by just using pre-cooked shrimp.
Ingredients:
- 1 Single Serving Goodles Twist My Parm Pasta Cup
- 6 Oz. Fully Cooked Shrimp
- 1 Slice of Bacon (I used Hormel Naturals)
- 1/2 Onion
- Black Pepper
- Thyme (optional)
Instructions:
- Start cooking the bacon in a skillet while you shop up your onion.
- When the bacon is cooked take it out of the skillet and set it aside and throw in your onion and toss it around in the bacon grease and let it cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
- While the onion is cooking add water to the fill line of your Goodles cup and put it into the microwave for 3 minutes and just finish cooking and mixing it per the instructions.
- When the onion is mostly cooked to your liking add 6 ounces of thawed and fully cooked shrimp into the skillet with the onion and bacon grease and stir it around to get the bacon grease flavor added to the shrimp.
- Lastly just throw it all in a bowl together with the cooked pasta and season with a little bit of salt, black pepper, and Thyme. The thyme is optional, but I love what it adds to the dish.
That's it! Enjoy!
This is ready in maybe 7-10 minutes TOPS, and so dang good.
Bringing Back My Favorite Summer
Protein Iced Coffee Hack
It's heating up again — which means it's officially iced coffee season in our house.
And every once in a while you find something you like so much it becomes a daily staple. This Ninja Iced Coffee Maker is one of those things.
Last summer, Joani and I were getting a little carried away with our Starbucks iced coffee habit...and it was starting to get pricey. Joani being the frugal one of the two of us found this Ninja Iced Coffee Maker that uses K-Cups or coffee grounds to make iced or regular coffee — and the iced coffee is PERFECT.
It's so simple, fast, and affordable that I make one pretty much every day now instead of running out 2-3 times a week.
Here's how I do it:
Pop in a K-Cup, fill your glass halfway with ice, select "Over Ice," choose 12 ounces, and hit brew.
Then I add a couple packets of stevia for sweetness and fill the rest of the glass with either Kroger Carbmaster Fat Free Vanilla Milk or a Premier Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Shake.
Both are extremely high protein, which turns a summer treat into a tasty, high-protein option I don't have to leave home for.
And that's what makes this one a keeper. ☕️
